It’s not for everyone. But if it’s for you, you’re ready. You’re ready to transform your trajectory, your business, your career. You know that you’re ready, at some level, deep in your gut. You’re ready, you’re hungry, but how?
You’ve got an ache, a desire to make things better. But there’s lots of uncertainty about how to proceed. What’s the next step and what’s the step after that?
Are you ready? If you are, these are probably your symptoms:
You’re tired. You’re tired of ankle-biting clients, of arguing over money with prospects who don’t recognize the incredible value that you bring, of not getting what you’re worth.
You’re proud. Of the work you’ve done, of the struggles you’ve overcome, of the experience you’ve gained, of the risks you’ve taken. You’ve got some scars, but you understand deep down, “No pain, no gain.”
You’re frustrated. Others have lifted themselves; they’ve changed their trajectory. You’re pleased for them, but there’s a nagging realization: in most cases their work isn’t that great. Yours is better. Why do they seem to have it so easy? A voice in the back of your head tells you, “Remember, the grass always looks greener,” but that doesn’t make the frustration go away.
You’re searching. You’re searching for a better way. You don’t know the exact path, but you can see that some people are making more progress, charging more, getting better clients. You’re curious, you’re hungry, and to satisfy your hunger, you’ve read some of the business books. They help, but not much. There’re lots of platitudes in those books. They’re not by your side giving you advice in real time—when you need help the most. They’re sitting on the nightstand at home while you’re at the office wrestling with your challenges.
You’re uncertain. What path should you follow? Will it be worth it in the end? “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”—you get that. Maybe you even see the first step pretty clearly, but then things get murky. Once you take the first step, what’s the next step, and the one after that, and the one after that? Where’s the map? The uncertainty can be close to paralyzing. And anyway, you’ve got clients to take care of.
Am I describing you? Take a deep breath. There’s lots of hope, and there is a clear path.
The key question is, what level of certainty do you require before you act? For the big, career-defining decisions, my mom always told me that you’ll never be 100 percent certain. So I figure that if I can come up with two good reasons to do something as opposed to one good reason not to, that’s about as good as it will ever get. Two-to-one. Two reasons for vs. one against. Two reasons of hope, vs. one of uncertainty.
Acting in the face of uncertainty? Those people who have already changed their trajectory, acted in the face of uncertainty. Maybe in the face of fear; maybe they were almost paralyzed. But they acted. They decided they’d had enough. Enough of ankle-biting clients, enough of not getting what they’re worth, enough of the frustration and enough of the uncertainty. They acted. They joined the Win Without Pitching program and never looked back.
So if you’re ready, the steps are clear. Not only the first step but the next one, and the one after that, and the one after that. In the program we’ve got a map for you. We’ve got the support for you; you won’t be on this journey alone. We can help you change your career, alter your trajectory, seize your destiny. It works. I know. I see the change happen as I work with people who’ve acted in the face of doubt. If you’re curious, you can talk to people who have done it. You’ll see it in their faces; you’ll hear it in their voices: it works.
What gives me the greatest pleasure is when the leaders I’ve been coaching and guiding first use their new power in sales situations, to land new clients at higher prices and with less work. In these new situations, these leaders are uncertain. They’re full of questions. But the answers are clear—and they’re powerfully effective. And now these leaders experience first hand how their hard work pays off. The joy in their voice is infectious. I’ve been telling them, “You can do this,” and now they’re doing it, and they come alive. They see the future laid out before them, like a map.
You can do this too.
We’ve got a map. But a map isn’t enough. We’ve got support. But support isn’t enough. There’s something missing, something only you can provide. You need courage. You need to be willing to leap in the face of uncertainty, to commit to transforming your career, to changing your trajectory, your destiny. Then you have to be willing to do the work, day in, day out. Is it hard? Yes, but so is arguing with ankle-biting clients. And every day you work on changing your trajectory is a day you leave your past farther and farther behind.
Are you tired? Are you frustrated? Are you searching? Are you uncertain?
Are you at two-to-one? Do you have two good reasons to change your destiny for every one doubt—or caution—or uncertainty? If you’ve got two-to-one, that’s as good as it will ever get. You’re ready. The future is waiting, you just need the courage to reach out and grab it.
Damn the doubts. Damn the uncertainty. Damn the caution. Full speed ahead. Let’s get to work.
